Microsoft Excel is an electronic spreadsheet program that is used for storing, organizing, computing and manipulating data. Microsoft Excel provides worksheets that are comprised of rows and columns.

Like A Microsoft Word Table, you can store the data in a spreadsheet, but we can do a lot of functions and computations with the stored by using Excel functions and formulas. This is the utility of Excel that separates it from the Microsoft Word Table.


Microsoft Excel is used to perform the calculation, analysis, and visualization of data and information.  In  Excel, Users can do various kinds of mathematical, financial, logical calculation, data manipulation, data analysis, and visualization of information in less time and efficient ways.

It's used to create a network of text, numbers, and formulas performing calculations. That's extremely valuable for many businesses, which use it to record expenditures and income, plan budgets, chart data and summarize the financial results.

How to Start Microsoft Excel? Follow the below steps to start the Excel application in your PC/Laptop:- 1.       Click on Start Menu 2.       Click on “All Programs” option from Menu. 3.       Select the Microsoft Office Option from the Sub Menu and click it. 4.       Search for Microsoft Excel (which edition installed) from Sub Menu and click it.
